We are advised to watch out for applications by pub operators for 24 hour licenses as these could impact the residential nature of the area.
Godolphin School - Update 28/4/05
Floodlighting plans for the Godolphin and Latymer school playing field in Iffley Road generated some protest when it was submitted, but consent was granted with the conditions listed below.
1. The lights may only be used between 8am and 6.30pm from October to February.
2. The lights must not give rise to light spillage in excess of 10 Lux in adjacent residential buildings
3. Prior to work starting Council approval must be obtained for details of the management of the pitch use, and for an automatic timer required to prevent use of the lights outside the approved period.
4.The light masts should not be more than 12 metres high.
St Johns Church and vicarage Iffley Road
No applications submitted. I understand that Godolphin School has shown
interest in the vicarage, and possibly the church. I am not aware of a formal
decision from the C of E regarding future of the buildings - the vicar Father
Paul has moved on, and evidently it is not intended to appoint a replacement.
The church is still in use.

I reported on this prior to the last meeting. Whilst being outside the
BRA zone, the proposed development of a 10 storey tower and much more 5
storey would have had a significant impact on Brackenbury. The proposal is
being considered at committee today (26/1/05) and the planning officer's report
recommends refusal.
