Royal Wedding Fever hits Brackenbury Village!

Halloween at Gina's Cakes
It's scary all day on Saturday, 30 October at Gina's Cakes in Bradmore Park Rd. Then, as the evening draws on ... celebrating ghosties slip away to the Andover.

Change to waste collection days
From 1 November rubbish/recycling will be collected from the following streets on a Wednesday and Saturday (instead of the current Tuesday and Friday): Hammersmith Grove, Richford Street, Astrop Terrace, Astrop Mews and Grove Mews. Serco has leafleted the relevant streets; this is a reminder.

Brackenbury Christmas Carols
This year's carol event - with choirs from Brackenbury and Godolphn and Latymer schools - will take place on Friday, 10 December, 4-5.30pm at the southern end of Brackenbury Rd. Father Christmas, police horses, mulled wine and mince pies. More details later.

Planning and development
The latest proposals are plans for the NCP carpark in Hammersmith Grove/Beadon Rd. You will recall the Armadillo of 2007? (Quite possibly dead now.) New plans and drawings for wrap-around glass office blocks may be seen at www.hammersmithgrovencp.co.uk or on the Council website, www.lbhf.gov.uk (>environment>planning>ref.2010/02842/FUL); see attached responses from BRA and Hammersmith Grove Neighbours Group (HGNG). Hammersmith Society response on request.

Goldhawk Industrial Estate seminar
with Richard Turney (BRA's barrister) - on the significance of the inquiry - Tuesday, 9 November, 6-8.00pm, at Landmark Chambers in Fleet St. To make a booking please email me first of all, and then deliver cash (or cheque) for £20 per person, cheque made payable to Goldhawk Estate Appeal, to treasurer Jackie Ashurst, 4 Providence Villas, Brackenbury Rd, W6 0BA.

Town Hall redevelopment:
after the public meeting on 13 October, attended by 400+ residents, the Leader of the Council commissioned an assessment of the Town Hall proposals from Price Waterhouse. We understand that the report will be made available to the public.

Christmas trees
BRA member Shoots & Leaves supplies and delivers quality Christmas trees to the home and office. Tel. 020 8563 7733; www.shootsandleaves.co.uk/xmas. Shoots and Leaves is donating the Christmas tree for Brackenbury, around which we gather for the carol event (see above).

Erratum, how time flies: in the last email news Dave Kent spotted that the Ancient World Breakfast Club's, 'The king and his scholars', is to meet on Friday, 5 November, breakfast 7.45pm, talk 8-9.00am .... it is, of course, all taking place in the morning, not overnight.

BRA AGM

Tuesday, 13 July, 7.30pm at the Grove Neighbourhood Centre. Guest speaker: Jane Garvey of Woman's Hour and Agate Road. The one meeting of the year just for members and invited guests.
